Amanda Powell grew up in the San Francisco, East Bay area. She went to college at UC Davis, and received her formal technician education through Veterinary Allied Staff Education. Amanda has been in this field since she was 15 years old. She comes to Bear Creek from working at a specialty/emergency clinic. While she still moonlights there, she has missed the long-term relationships she gets to form with her patients in general practice. As Amanda herself says, “Sometimes I just need a new puppy exam!”.
She works everyday to improve her skills to better help her patients and teaches budding technicians to do the same. In the past she has volunteered with Friends of the Animal Shelter.
Amanda has 2 dogs and a horse. She enjoys their company as she rockhounds, hikes, and searches for morels. She is happiest when they are happy! She also enjoys the abundance of cheeses and wines the Rogue Valley has to sample.
